® EADV returns to its birthplace! “The Renaissance of Dermatology” was the motto of the 13 th EADV Congress which took place in Florence, where it had all begun 15 years earlier for the first ever EADV Congress under the then leadership of Prof Emiliano Panconesi, the Honorary Congress President and a great visionary. From 1989, EADV congresses had gone from strength to strength and now brought together approximately 9000 registered attendees from all over the world. Prof Torello Lotti, Congress President, and Prof Ruggero Caputo, Chairman of the Local Scientific Committee and the Local Organising Committee (LOC), structured a wonderful event both scientifically and socially. All who took part in the scientific programme were supplied with the latest information and updates in all areas of Dermatology and Venereology, presented by the best and more expe- rienced European and non-European scientists. A new session “Test Yourself” was introduced during this congress where clinical cases were presented and enabled the audience to take part in an informative discussion on current developments. A record number of 22 satellite symposia enriched the scientific programme and were added proof of the great impact that EADV congresses had on industry. The congress dinner took place at the prestigious Palazzo Corsini, where the magical ambiance provided a beautiful backdrop for a spe- cial evening among friends and colleagues.
