® The Nice Acropolis Convention Centre was the venue for the 7 th EADV Congress. It was the first “real” convention centre that hosted an EADV Congress. The Congress President, Prof Jean-Paul Ortonne, orchestrated the local host committee, comprising Stephane Belaich, Philippe Lauret, Jean-Philippe Lacour and Jean Revuz, in organising a most successful event with the highest number, up till that time, of participants. The scientific programme, involved nine plenary lectures delivered by eminent speakers, a wide range of workshops, courses and symposia covering all areas of Dermatology and most advances in research. In addition to the official programme, several meetings were organised by sister societies, such as the International Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the European Society for Lasers and Energy Based Devices and many more. Furthermore, a significant numer of satellite sympo- sia sponsored by pharmaceuticals companies constituted a high point. Given the location of the Acropolis Centre and the beautiful weather during that period, participants also had the opportunity to take in the beautiful surroundings and experience the magnificent French Riviera, with its multicutural character combining Italian charm, Greek history ( Nice comes from the Greek word Niki which means victory ), the American look, Oriental sensuality and British style.
