s Hans Rothenborg from Denmark had the unenviable task of ensuring the Academy survived its earliest years. Like the two subsequent Secretary Generals, Hans ran the Academy with the support of his local assistant. He became EADV President in 1992. His full CV can be found on page 23.
2 nd EADV Secretary General: 1993–2000
s Andreas Katsambas from Greece was elected the second Secretary General. He became EADV President in 2008. His full CV can be found on page 30.
3 rd EADV Secretary General: 2000–2004
s Frank Powell from Dublin was elected the third EADV Secretary General. During his tenure, a professional staff support was instituted in the EADV House in Brussels. He became EADV President in 2010. His full CV can be found on page 31.
4 th EADV Secretary General: 2004–2010
s Joseph Pace was born in Malta in 1946. He completed his MD at the University of Malta before training in Dermatology at various centres in the UK, including Edinburgh, Manchester and Stoke-on- Trent. After a spell in Saudi Arabia he returned to Malta and became the first Professor and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the Sir Paul Boffa Hospital. Joseph Pace has served as President of the Medical Association of Malta, President of the World Medical Association, Chairman of the first EADV Spring Symposium held in Malta (2003) and as Secretary General of EADV from 2004–2010.
